I am going to test out new setting for my macro shooting and lighting for coming 2-3 weeks time.
this time I will use one of my favorite macro shooter diffuse method by Stephen @ http://www.flickr.com/photos/9578475@N02/
"plastic Cup Diffuser", which I tried few months back while I tried to use a styrofoam plate (different materiel) compare to Stephen one.

How close are you getting to the object with this setup ?
It's a very interesting idea this - I'll try it sometime. The lighting in your damselfly shot is superb.
Liewwk, I notice you have also taped some diffusion material directly over the flash heads. What weight of diffusion have you used?
NIX , the distance still same .. 4in for 1:1 ... and depend on your's len
Rob, it is just a piece of styrofoam paper sheet :D
Do you have details on the angle extenders on your MT-24EX? I just got my flash and found the flash heads way too close on the MP-E65.
Great idea you have there.
bs, if u using standard flash with stofen, puffer diffuser .. put the flash head to lowest angle for 2-5:1 but up one "click" for 1:1 ... I do try various angle position actually for default height of the flash .. it make minor different .. provide u add on some flash shoe then angle could play some role :D (so I use 100 oclock and 2 oclock)
